We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, when you go away on a holiday, one of the most important decisions that you will make is where to stay. It can make or break your holiday. If you are heading to St. Kitts, and want a sure thing, Park Hyatt St. Kitts Christophe Harbour has it all. The setting is pristine, it is well located, the rooms are airy with a beachy vibe and the people working at the resort go out of their way to make you feel welcome from your first day to your last.

The Location
Located just about 20 minutes from the airport, you will feel like you have the island paradise to yourself at Park Hyatt St. Kitts Christophe Harbour. The resort has an ideal location – the beach and Caribbean Sea are right there. Nevis is ten minutes away by water taxi. There are plenty of activities on-site, but you are close to many attractions including Brimstone Hill Fortress (just 40 minutes away) and Romney Manor – Caribelle Batik which is just 36 minutes away. There are golf courses near by as well.
The property itself feels large, and because it isn’t a one building hotel, rather, it’s villas with different room styles, it is easy to lose your bearings at night. My only criticism of the hotel is that the villa numbers are hard to read and the property needs to be better lit at night. During the day, it is easy to find your way around the beautiful property.
There are often employees driving around in golf carts ready to take you where you want to go or help you find your way. They always seemed to show up at the perfect time.
The Room
The Park Hyatt St. Kitts offers a variety of different room styles. I stayed in the Plunge Pool Rooftop Suite. It features 725 square feet of room space with an additional private deck of 615 square feet. This isn’t a standard hotel room – it’s the size of many condos. The living room/dinette is spacious with plenty of space to work or just relax after a long day. The bedroom is light and airy – exactly what you envision when you think of a tropical holiday. The floor to ceiling windows give you the perfect view to enjoy sunrise without leaving your bed.
The bathroom is out of a design magazine with a free standing soaker tub, two sinks with wooden accents with plenty of towels. There is a separate WC. There is also a large shower with a waterfall shower head. Best of all, the room came with a spacious dressing area – not a traditional closet.
If two on-site pools aren’t enough for you, premium suites, including the one one that I stayed in, have a large terrace with your own plunge pool and enjoy a spectacular view. St. Kitts can be hot, so it is also a nice way to cool off after a day of touring the island. The terrace also has a large two person lounger, bar and additional seating.
The View
A picture speaks a thousand words, and this had to be one of the most amazing views from a hotel suite that I have ever seen. Looking over the properties two pools, the Caribbean Sea and Nevis at sunset – it was just breathtaking. All guest suites look out over the Caribbean, so even if your view isn’t exactly the same as this one, it will still be postcard-worthy.
The Sugar Mill Spa and Sanctuary
The Sugar Mill Spa and Sanctuary is exactly what you would expect at a premium resort. A visually beautiful spa with services that range from massage, manicure/pedicures, scrubs, waxing, and hair services. I had the sports massage – a deep tissue massage that was perfect. If you like a gentler massage or have specific problem areas, you can try the custom massage. With any spa service, you can enjoy the poolside, sauna or other relaxation areas.
Final Thoughts
The Park Hyatt St. Kitts Christophe Harbour is ideal for:
- People who like an understated, luxurious property and have the budget
- People who want to have access to the beach, quick and easy access to Nevis and the rest of St. Kitts
- Couples – this is a beautiful spot for a honeymoon or a romantic getaway. With private cabanas or a dinner for two by the resorts waterfall, you will never want to leave
- Families – With suites that can accommodate families, a family pool and Island Fort Kids Club, families can enjoy the resort
If you are on a tight budget, this hotel is a premium property with steep nightly rates. Rooms start at $780 USD and suites like the one that I stayed in will run you $1,200+. Prices vary depending on the time of year. It is definitely worth saving up for but luxury comes with a price. From the welcome drink to your departure, you will feel pampered and like you truly had a holiday.
