But for this edition of Fun Finds for Fall, we wanted to look beyond the usual seasonal suspects. We found nostalgic treats with a new twist, an internet food trend that may actually be worth trying, a very Canadian dessert mashup and even a kitchen splurge that is almost too pretty to use. How Canadian can one dessert get? BeaverTails and McCain have teamed up for the first time to create Slice of Canada, a limited-edition mashup of two treats that will bring back plenty of memories.
It starts with a BeaverTails pastry topped with vanilla spread and chocolate drizzle. Then comes the part that caught our attention: an actual slice of McCain Deep’n Delicious chocolate cake on top. It’s literally dessert on dessert and we’re here for it.
There’s definitely a nostalgia factor to this one. Whether Deep’n Delicious was a regular fixture in your freezer growing up or a BeaverTail was part of your summer festival or winter skating tradition, the collaboration brings two familiar favourites together in a very indulgent way.
Find a LocationNice Cans Sardines – $12.99 Online

Now this is an interesting fun find for fall.
The internet’s latest wellness obsession has officially entered the pantry. Sardinemaxxing is having a moment, with people reaching for the tiny fish for their impressive nutritional profile. At the same time, the broader “eat your skincare” conversation is putting more attention on what we put in our bodies alongside what we put on our skin.
And suddenly, the humble sardine is having a pretty glamorous moment.
It’s not entirely hype. Sardines are naturally packed with protein and omega-3 fatty acids, along with nutrients including vitamin D, vitamin B12, selenium and calcium. They’ve also had quite the image makeover, going from old-school pantry staple to the star of beautifully styled tins, “sea-cuterie” boards and countless social media posts.
If you’re sardine-curious, Canadian chef Charlotte Langley was ahead of the trend. Her tinned seafood brand, Nice Cans, offers a decidedly modern take on canned fish and an easy way to give one of fall’s more unexpected food trends a try.
Do you need to “sardinemaxx”? Definitely not. But adding a tin to a snack plate, piling sardines onto toast or serving them with crackers and your favourite accompaniments? That’s a trend we can get behind.
Buy NowKitchenAid 2026 Design Series Stand Mixer, Luminaire – $899.99

Some kitchen appliances get tucked away in a cupboard. This is definitely not one of them.
KitchenAid has unveiled Luminaire, its 2026 Design Series Stand Mixer, and it may be one of the prettiest additions to your fall kitchen. Following 2024’s much-talked-about Evergreen mixer, Luminaire takes a more luminous approach…literally.
The new mixer features a fluted, hardened glass bowl with an integrated light that shines through the glass, casting a subtle pattern across your countertop as you mix. Add the rich Blue Peppercorn colour, textured crinkle finish and polished accents, and you have an appliance that’s as much a design piece as it is a kitchen workhorse.
Of course, it still has to earn its counter space. Luminaire comes with dishwasher-safe stainless steel accessories, including a Double Flex Edge Beater, Dough Hook, Wire Whip and Flat Beater, ready for everything from Thanksgiving prep to cozy Sunday baking.
Does it put the “fun” in functional? Technically, yes — although at $899.99, we’re firmly in luxury territory. Do we want one sitting on our counter this fall? Absolutely.
