With a steady rise in chronic ailments and related health issues, it is no wonder that there is a rising awareness of what we eat and our health style among the masses. Sedentary lifestyles, a diet high in junk food, and stress are some of the causes behind obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular issues. According to recent research, obesity is a burgeoning problem across the world and a major risk factor for diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Recent data indicates virtually every country will face a major health crisis due to diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

It may be time to check what you put on your plate and grocery list. It is not just the quality and kind of food items that you buy, but how you cook them is also important. Along with that, you need to take a look at the size of your meal portions and the frequency of meals that you eat throughout the day. Health experts have put together this list of healthy diets to try in 2023 for your information and convenience.

Paleo Diet

The Paleo Diet is very similar to what our ancestors ate and is considered by some experts to be a healthy option. Researchers believe that our ancestors lived an active lifestyle, consumed whole foods, and were unlikely to develop lifestyle diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. Numerous studies suggest significant weight loss due to the Paleo Diet can result in major health improvements. You can always look for paleo meal delivery if you are not very sure about how to follow the meal plan.

Mediterranean Diet

The Mediterranean Diet is quickly gaining popularity worldwide as it benefits overall health. It includes fresh vegetables, fruits, and whole grains; the meals are prepared in olive oil. The diet also recommends moderate exercise and limits the intake of added sugars and processed foods as well as red meat. The Mediterranean Diet is known to lower the risk of heart disease and in some cases may help lower of the risk of certain types of cancer.

DASH Diet

DASH stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension and the focus of the diet is to control blood pressure and sugars. The DASH diet is effective for weight loss as it encourages the use of whole grains, lean proteins, low-fat dairy, fresh fruits, and vegetables. Research shows that those following the DASH lower the risk of cardiovascular diseases in addition to weight loss. It is popular because it is one of the easiest and healthy diets to follow.

Vegetarian Diet

As the name suggests, a vegetarian diet excludes all meats and depending on the person, animal byproducts such as eggs and dairy. Plant-based foods include vegetables, fruits, seeds, and grains. A vegetarian diet is good for our health as it is nutrient-dense and depending on what you eat, it can lower the risk of obesity and other related health issues. All you need to do is get more of the plant-based foods into your diet, which are higher in fiber.

Volumetrics Diet

The volumetrics diet stresses consuming lower-calorie, nutrient-dense foods, and these include fruits, vegetables, low-fat dairy, and whole grains. The foods in the structured volumetrics diet tend to have high water content, such as non-starchy vegetables, fruits, and soups. The diet limits unhealthy fats and added sugar in large portions and encourages healthy and balanced foods in the right portion size. The Volumetrics Diet satisfies your appetite and is a great option for people with diabetes.

Apart from those, there are other healthy diets to try in 2023, such as Pescatarian Diet, Intermittent Fasting, MIND Diet, Flexitarian Diet, and more. Before you start any diet, discuss with your dietitian and understand your goals based on your individual health and lifestyle. If you already suffer from diabetes and cardiovascular conditions, it is essential to consult your doctor before making any dietary changes.
