If you follow Sarah Nicole Landry on Instagram (also known as The Birds Papaya) you’ll be delighted to know that she has just launched a capsule collection with Canadian label Smash + Tess. The Instagram star, already a big fan of the brand designed two pieces for her collection. The collection includes a black romper called The S+T Jemma Summer Romper as well as a tropical print called The Papaya Duster. Being comfortable and stylish is definitely possible! The capsule collection will be available online on May 26, and we suspect it will fly off the shelves like hot cakes!

Sarah Nicole answered some of our questions down here. Here you go!

What inspired you for this capsule collection?

I’m a long-time customer and fan of Smash + Tess, there’s just nothing else like their rompers, so along the way, I certainly started to have a little inner wish list. The S-T Jemma Summer Romper was certainly that big one for me. I love a one-stop-shop outfit and one that can go from lounge to street wear, mom life or work life with ease. With the tie being versatile from front to back to side, it just made it so customizable for the individual wearer to sport how they chose. Over pieces like the Papaya Duster are one of my FAVOURITE summer add-ons. Wear it with jeans and a tee, or throw it over your bathing suit and it immediately elevates the whole look. There’s a certain confidence that comes to life with it.

Why did you want to collaborate with Smash+Tess?

Canadian, female-lead, and size-inclusive brands are NOT easy to find. As I mentioned, I’ve been a customer for years, and I honestly can say that they stand the test of time, every single romper I own has had its fair share of use and they look brand new.

Do you have a life motto?

“Your body is the least interesting part of you” (Beauty Redefined quote). I love it because it reminds me of all the facets of who I am. To show up, even when I’m not loving what I see in the mirror that day because I am more than that. LIFE is happening, and it cannot be slowed, and it certainly cannot be repeated. I want to choose to exist beyond my body.

What’s the one product that’s always in your purse?

Lip serum and a credit card!

What is a fact about you that would surprise others?

There’s not much people don’t know about me, I’m a pretty open book. But I will say that two things that people tell me the most as their “surprise” in meeting me is that A) I’m the same in real life as I am online, and B) I’m taller than they expected!

What changes concerning women would you like to see in 2020?

I would love to see clothing sizes brought together more. We’re segregated women (and men) based on size and even into different sections of the store, if even in the store at all. Smash + Tess is one that’s been at setting an example to this change. I used to be a plus-sized woman, and when I lost weight, it felt like society was finally accepting me, that I could wear the same clothes as other women could in the same stores… but the memories of having to shop “differently” than my friends always stuck with me, and now I realize how broken it is. Inclusiveness really does make a difference.

What advice would you like to give to today’s women?

There’s a lot out there about “becoming” a better woman, or “becoming” your best self. What I’ve come to find myself, is that my “becoming” was more of a home-coming. It’s about finding power in who I am, who I’ve always been, and listen to that person more. We are always evolving, but if we evolve away from ourselves, we miss out on how good it feels to exist in our very own stories!
