DIVINE x Appleton Estate
Many people love a classic Old Fashioned. Appleton Estate has put their own spin on it using their rum in place of whiskey. They recommend the Appleton Estate 12 Year Old Rare Casks. It gives the cocktail a much smoother taste and the simple syrup cuts the sourness of the cocktail. Some people have a hard time with a strong beverage. Adding lemon-lime sparkling soda or club soda and with the juice of lemon and lime will give the cocktail a lighter flavour. You can tweak any recipe to make it your own or to suit your own taste. Our recommendation is to try the original first so that you understand the flavour profile.
If you don’t have the exact ingredients on hand, you can still enjoy your take on the cocktail. For example, I substituted Appleton Estate 8-Year Old Reserve, which launched in March as part of the global introduction of the new Appleton Estate.
