On a recent visit to Orlando, I stayed at The Terraces at The Grove Resort & Water Park – a relaxed retreat tucked away from the energy of the theme parks. This relaxed oasis is part of a larger resort and serves as the more adult-friendly counterpart to The Grove, which primarily caters to families.
It is a Walt Disney World Good Neighbour Hotel. This designation means the resort meets Disney’s quality and proximity standards. The Terraces at The Grove Resort offers a free shuttle to the theme parks at Walt Disney World, another requirement of the program, and staff can also assist with planning and tickets.
The Terraces at The Grove Resort & Water Park received the Good Housekeeping Family Travel Award for 2025, along with a number of other accolades over the years. But it is important to experience everything firsthand. I am sharing my experience in our latest “A Room With a View”.

The Location

The Terraces at The Grove Resort & Water Park is located approximately 40 minutes from Orlando International Airport. It is between 13 and 20 minutes from most of the parks at Walt Disney World. Universal Orlando is around 35 minutes away. Its central location makes it easy to access the theme parks while still offering a quieter setting away from the busiest tourist areas.
The Room

I stayed in The Terraces One Bedroom Suite. If you are traveling with a friend or your partner this is an ideal setup. The modern room came with a kitchenette, dinette, and living area with TV and sofa bed. The bathroom was basic but well-appointed and the bedroom was separate from the living area, spacious and comfortable. I wasn’t in the room often, but I appreciated having the dining area to set up my laptop and a mini-fridge that actually kept my water cold.

As with most resorts, there are a variety of rooms available from one to two-bedroom condos with ensuite laundry, traditional hotel rooms (studios), and even accessible rooms/condos. The condos and suites have everything that you need including pots and pans, cutlery, stove top, and a dishwasher. This allows families to save money by eating some meals at the resort.
My suite was comfortable and quiet with little ambient noise. Everything was clean and the decor was simple.

The bathroom was large and featured traditional large-scale tiling in the stall shower, which is always my preference. My only complaint: shower curtains aren’t as functional as glass doors. The floor stayed dry for the most part since the shower had a lip.
The View

My room had a small balcony that overlooked a pond with a lovely fountain. It truly gave the space a resort feel.
Final Thoughts
The Terraces at The Grove Resort & Water Park is ideal for:
- Couples and friends who want more of an adult experience in Orlando
- Travelers that are in Orlando to see the theme parks and beyond
- People that are on a budget, but want all of the conveniences of home
- Travelers with accessibility needs
- Families
The Terraces at The Grove Resort & Water Park’s friendly staff will make you feel at home. The lobby is warm and spacious. Byte grab-and-go made breakfast convenient and had enough options. The pool was generally quiet – perfect for a day in a lounger reading your favourite book. Although it is relatively affordable (depending on your budget), you do have to pay a resort fee, so you will need to factor that expense into your trip.
Thanks to the location, it is tranquil and you are surrounded by natural beauty. The resort itself appears large, but you can easily walk it. If you have any challenges walking, there are golf carts that you can request to take you to the waterpark or restaurant.
Orlando has so much to offer. If you want to explore multiple theme parks while still leaving time to see more of the city, and perhaps take a day or two to relax, The Terraces at The Grove Resort & Water Park is an ideal home base.
