Are you heading to Osheaga or another music festival this year? Chances are, it’s going to be hot and humid, so you will want to make sure that you are protected from the sun and are fully equipped to spend the day outside. Here are the essentials that we suggest you get your hands on before going to the festival!
Sunscreen
One of the most important things to use when spending the day outside is a good sunscreen for your face. Always make sure that you wear an SPF50 or a 60 such as the options from Vichy or Laroche-Posay. We also really like Skinceuticals, which comes in a small tube so that you can bring it with you and re-apply throughout the day.
Don’t forget to protect the rest of your body! COOLA, a vegan, organic Canadian brand smells amazing! If you are looking for a budget-friendly option, try Equate, which is exclusive to Walmart. It has also been rated one of the best products on the market.
Wipes
These are a festival essential and are multi-purpose. You will be eating from food trucks, going to the bathroom, you may feel sweaty and it’s going to be dirty everywhere so they will come in handy. Bring a package of these! We like the ones from Simple.
A Hat or a Headband
Try to protect your face from the sun by wearing a hat (Aldo and H&M have good selections). There are tons of looks depending on the style you want to go for. If you are not into hats but you still want to wear something in your hair, go for a headband, which is very trendy this summer. You can also use a scarf and tie it around your hair for a quick, fashionable look!

A Good Pair of Sunglasses
When shopping for a pair of sunglasses, choose ones with good UV protection to make sure you are protecting your eyes from the sun’s rays. There are a lot of different styles in stores now, so have fun with the ones you choose.
A Backpack
You will not want to bring a purse – you will be carrying a heavy weight on your shoulder all day long. Instead, opt for a backpack, which is great option since you can put a lot of items in it, and it’s also very trendy right now. Not into backpacks? How about a fanny pack. These are also coming back this season!

Comfortable Shoes
You will be walking a lot and standing up all day long, so choose flats that are comfortable, like sandals or sneakers or go for a rain bootie in case the weather becomes wet and the ground is muddy.

Healthy Snacks
Food on-site will probably be expensive and very healthy, so think about packing a few healthy snacks with you like granola bars, almonds and dark chocolate to give you the energy that you need to enjoy the festival.
