One of the biggest weeks in fashion might have passed a few weeks ago, but the fashion trends it inspired are here to stay. We’re enamored by all the stunning pieces we saw, both from the front row and on the runway. From Kristine Froseth’s vintage inspired two-piece at Tory Burch to Shay Mitchell’s classic all-white outfit at Altuzarra, here are some fashion trends we’ve spotted that we’ll definitely be recreating this season.
Band tees with a twist
Jenny Mollen and Stacey Bendet stunned in their vintage band tees with a twist – the red butterfly sleeves are to die for. While we loved band tees with ripped jeans and leather jackets a few years ago, these fashionistas show us that we can elevate a more casual and countercultural piece into something that fits our personal fashion taste.
Casual pantsuit
The topic of #WFH has brought up serious debate across corporations, hindering some but allowing others to thrive. One thing we can agree on, however, is the changes it brought to fashion. Many forego their classic wool jacket and pantsuits for more comfortable and fashionable sets. Hailee Steinfeld wore a printed jacket and Bermuda shorts set, maintaining the chicness of a pantsuit but with her own playful touch. If you are looking for a casual version of your favorite pantsuit, try a high-waisted version of your favorite pants paired with a cropped dress shirt and dress shirt.
A hint of childhood
The Moschino runway was without a doubt a favorite of ours, for its colorful pastels and ever-stunning nostalgia factor. The past few months have seen a rise in more colourful and youthful pieces in fashion. We’re thinking beaded necklaces, “boy” t-shirts as crop tops, and colourful frilly dresses. This season, don’t be scared to add a hint of colour or borrow one of your daughter or niece’s beaded bracelets.
Bustier necklines
It’s no secret that fashion loves turning lingerie pieces into ready-to-wear items. Slip dresses and lingerie-inspired matching sets have adorned our Instagram feeds the past few years, and for good reason – the sexy and feminine touch also felt very sensual and familiar, even. This year, bustier tops were all the rage. Wear one with jeans for a casual Sunday brunch or as Lorde did, as a chic A-line dress. They are both flattering and elegant and will definitely make you feel sexy.
