Everybody can travel the world vicariously through travel videos, thanks to the internet, but the task of releasing the best travel video in the world is challenging to vloggers. What if you would like to share your travel experiences but are not sure if your travel video would be appreciated by the audience? Well, worry no more! This guide will help you to with tips to make your travel video awesome!

Travel vlogs have become increasingly popular.  Everyone loves watching and sharing their travel experiences with others who are curious about world travel. To learn about other cultures, to listen to various languages, to come across unique attire, food and norms, all feels like living on another planet. Living in the 21st century, we are at the peak of scientific and technological advancements.

Here are some ways to make your travel video stand out and tips for holiday video editing that will wow your viewers!

Quality is Appeal

Everything about a video can be judged by its quality. People are drawn to better quality video than to poorer content. Unfortunately, high-end hardware must be purchased if you want more  video views, but you can conveniently get 1080p HD @60 FPS equipment at an affordable cost and will increase the quality for your viewers.

Shaking is a Turnoff

Your video will be shaky and hard to watch if you continuously move the device when filming. It is safer to have a device with stabilizers so that you don’t continuously jerk your equipment while you are filming.  Shaking is a huge problem if you are filming while hiking or horseback riding (for example), both of which are common while traveling. To avoid losing your viewers because of this error, it is better to try to hold your hand steady, get stabilizing equipment or  find someone else to shoot you in moments where your video may get shaky.

Communicate

Linking loud music to travel videos is not art and people may not appreciate it. If you wish to make quality travel videos, then you have to clarify everything you see to your viewers instead of expecting them to understand everything on their own.

Commentary is important and you should carefully select your words because people will be affected by your explanations.  The locals will also appreciate if you describe their customs to the outside world respectfully and in detail.

Stick With Your Style

Choose a theme that you will film in, before you leave for your travel. Improvising can often mean that your shots will not turn out the way that you wanted them to. Once you start recording, it is best to set the colour balance and accuracy of the shots, and once you get the right balance, you won’t have any worries about your style throughout your trip.

Explore Everything

When you are visiting a foreign country, leave no stone left unturned. Enjoy the local cuisine however different it may be. You won’t necessarily be in your comfort zone in a foreign country so you try everything while sharing it with your audience as well.

Focus on the Subject

Many people don’t realize that a travel blog isn’t about you. It’s about where you’re going to visit, so don’t make it about yourself and focus on the scenery, the sites and the people that you meet there.

Enjoy Yourself

This may be the most important tip on the list. You did not spend your time and money traveling the world to not enjoy yourself along the way. The thing that makes a travel video worth watching is for the producer to genuinely appreciate and enjoy their journey.

Portrait Mode is a No-No

No one likes to watch videos in portrait mode. Watching the travel videos in landscape mode is always preferable. If you’re shooting the travel video in a vertical style, it will feel more like a home video from the 90’s than a travel clip. Don’t let your talents go to waste with a vertical shot.

Don’t Back Out!

If you are afraid of action and adventure then traveling may not be the best choice for you. Viewers want to see videos with some adventure and fun-filled events. Adding some bold action in your travel video that may seem scary to others just makes for great content so give the audience the type of content they are looking for!

Lighting Makes all the Difference

Sunrise and sunset shots are always winners. You ask why? Because the lighting is just fantastic at that moment.  If you really want the perfect shot, make sure you have the perfect light exposure.

Conclusion

Travelling is passion; everyone wants to travel, but it is not always feasible because of the time, effort and money it requires. This is where travel vloggers come in handy – they make it easy for anyone to experience travel in the comfort of their homes. With so many vloggers out there, you have to make sure your videos stand out so that they get the views that you are looking for. Follow the tips above to make incredible videos incredible and happy traveling!
