Eight Things you need for Coachella 2018

The Coachella music festival is right around the corner, and all we hope for is gorgeous weather to complement the crazy lineup. Right after great artists and food truck comfort foods, the most important (and memorable, often) part of the weekend is your Coachella fashion. Festivals style has evolved throughout the years, but some things remain – glitter, hello! From clothing to shoes, to makeup and accessories, take a look at the eight things you definitely need to purchase before heading off to the Colorado Desert.

Clothing

Floral is still the signature pattern for music festivals, but they have definitely evolved. Instead of tiny colorful ones, opt for bigger florals on looser pieces – like maxi dresses. Pastels are definitely in this season, and are easy to wear with virtually anything. Bows, dainty straps, or avant-garde backs are a great way to turn a simple top into fashion statements. Denim dresses are always in style. As for bottoms, our hearts lay with the flared pant or maxi skirt – comfortable and breezy, they’ll also protect you from the crazy Indio sun. More athletic? Try combining the athleisure trend to practicality, with a one-piece swimsuit! Just throw on a pair of denim shirts or a shawl, and you’re ready to hit the fields. Plus, they double as bodysuits!

Our favorite clothing pieces of the moment:

Dynamite Clothing Front Zip Denim Dress, $59.95

Zara Voluminous Midi Skirt, $79.90

Accessories

The most important part of your outfit, believe it or not, is your footwear. Balancing comfort and style is hectic, especially at Coachella, so don’t be scared to invest in good and comfortable shoes – like sandals! They’ll be cool enough to not suffocate you, but can be styled easily (especially if you plan on wearing them with three different outfits). When it comes to jewelry, a good statement item and complementary minimalistic pieces is all you need – keep it simple and easy. Basically, opt for your everyday style with a bohemian twist. Our personal favorites are anklets! It’s not every day that you can walk around barefoot! Don’t forget about your phone, it deserves to be adorned too. We have our eyes on stone-print cases – they’re sleek, boho, and simply gorgeous.

We love these pieces specifically:

Caroline Néron 3 in 1 Sunflower, $65

Aldo Campodoro Flat Sandals in Light Pink, $65

Caroline Néron 3 in 1 Agadir, $75

Beauty

We doubt that the highlighter trend is any close to fading, so if you want to take it up a notch, rock the holographic highlight! Any face palette that doubles as an eyeshadow palette is perfect for your weekend, as it reduces the amount of products you have to bring. Plus, face powders tend to last longer, so that’s our little secret for you. Natural hair is a must for the weekend, but if you want a little oomph, pocket-sized texturizing sprays will be your greatest ally. Finally, don’t forget to take care of your skin. A weekend (or just hours) under the sun can be damaging, so pack a few after-sun care products! Sheets are more practical, but don’t shy away from creams or lotions.

Here are some of our favorite products of the moment, catered for your festival beauty needs:

Sephora Collection Contour Blush Spice Market Blush Palette

Colorista Hair Makeup available at select drugstores

Personnelle After Sun Soothing and Refreshing Mask, available in Jean-Coutu drugstores.
