The Galaxy Ring is finally coming to Canada on October 3rd. The anticipated addition to the Samsung lineup will capture important health metrics, including sleep, heart rate, blood oxygen, skin temperature, and workouts, with Samsung AI insights that you use with the Samsung Health app.
If you don’t own a Samsung mobile device like the newly launched Galaxy S24 FE (also available on October 3), you can still use the Galaxy Ring with the Samsung Health app. Just download it from Google Play or the App Store on your iPhone. You just can’t use some of the features like sharing your workouts with other Galaxy phone users or a really easy way to take photos.
Galaxy Ring: The Specs
The ring comes in titanium black, silver and gold. It comes in sizes 5-13. You are meant to wear the Galaxy Ring on your index finger, therefore size accordingly. The Details You Want to Know
I haven’t tested the Galaxy Ring, therefore, I can’t give you my full thoughts but check back once I have. There are some details that I do know. The Galaxy Ring retails for $549.99. It comes with a charger which is an amazing design – it looks like a crystal ring box and the light indicator tells you if your ring is charged.
The question now is do you need it? The answer is that people really don’t need anything. The question should be, do you want it?
This is a health focused wearable. If you don’t like wearing a smartwatch or find recharging your smartwatch daily a chore, this is a good option. It is light, easy to wear and holds a charge much longer. You will never miss a step because of the long battery life. I am a smartwatch lover, so this would be an addition. I use it for everything including answering phone calls quickly and sending quick texts.
If you are on the Samsung ecosystem, it will work best. It gives detailed health data using AI technology. You can also use a hand gesture to take a photo with a Galaxy Smartphone like the Galaxy S24 FE. All in all, it is a very cool addition to the Samsung ecosystem.
