We are all spending more time at home right now.  Some days, it is easier than others to stay both active and balanced.  Yoga is a great way to feel more centered and gain flexibility.  As an avid Yogi and fitness instructor, I have been doing classes at home.  Here are my top online beginner yoga recommendations for you. All of the online beginner yoga classes can be found on YouTube. I have selected them based on clarity and ease of learning.

Yoga by Adriene to “Find What Feels Good”

Adriene Mishler is friendly and encouraging, true to her mantra. Dubbed the Queen of YouTube yoga, her channel has almost seven million subscribers. Yoga with Adriene provides quality practices on yoga and mindfulness at no cost to inspire people of all ages, shapes and sizes across the globe.

The channel was recognized by Google as the most searched workout of 2015, was recognized by The Wall Street Journal for Health and Wellness in 2016. You can also check her tips at https://yogawithadriene.com/

Yin Yoga with Melissa is about “Real Yoga for Real People”

Dr. Melissa West connects the physical with the philosophical context of yoga for all levels. She has been teaching since 2002 with a loyal following. You ease into the postures with her simple modifications in the poses. You learn to connect your physical body to your thoughts, emotions and your breath to your spirit.

My pick is the 60 min Beginner Yin Yoga to relax and learn about Yin Yoga.  Learn more from her and check her tips at www.melissawest.com/408/

Restorative Yoga with BrettLarkinYoga is for Total Relaxation

Yogi Brett Larkin has a series of different types of yoga on her channel with 300,000+ subscribed. You will ease into total relaxation with her calmness. She also offers a very successful Yoga Teaching Training online.

My pick is her Restorative Yoga: 30 Minutes of Deep Relaxation for a quick calming dose. Dim the lights. Maybe light a candle. You will need some pillows, and your favourite blanket. You can also check her tips at https://www.brettlarkin.com/blog/

Body Positive Yoga to “Build Unshakable Confidence”

Founder, Amber Karnes, teaches adaptive yoga practice for people with bodies of all shapes, sizes, and abilities. Her philosophy is that you don’t have to lose weight or torture yourself with exercise to get a body you love. You build unshakable confidence and live life on your own terms.

My pick is the 45-minute Body Positive Yoga class with props from around the house on her channel. Besides her YouTube channel, you can also check her tips at www.bodypositiveyoga.com.

We would love to hear from you and look forward to your feedback and other recommendations.

Namaste!
