Midsummer, a highly celebrated event in Sweden, is the tradition of welcoming the warmth and long summer days with friends and family. To enjoy everything that this time of year has to offer, Volvo is hosting the Volvo Midsummer Celebration and we were lucky enough to get a sneak peek. Here is everything that you need to know about this free, family-friendly event:

  • Open Air Midsummer Gallery: Enchanting florals take over Volvo’s fleet of hybrid and pure electric vehicles.
  • Bowery Project Pocket Park: Check out the urban farm and pollinator garden from Bowery Project, a not-for-profit organization with a mission to create opportunities for urban agriculture through the temporary use of vacant lots.
  • Engaging Workshops: Get educated, get inspired and get growing with a series of workshops on all things flora, including pollinator gardens, flower crowns and building your own bouquets.
  • Local Vendors: Shop organic and ethical goods from local makers. For some Midsummer-inspired eats.
  • Midsummer Safety for Kids: Kids can drive too with our line up of mini-Volvos in the Midsummer Kids Safety Zone.
  • On-Site Test Drives: Experience Volvo first-hand by taking a test drive with one of their Product Specialists. For each test drive taken Volvo will plant a tree through One Tree Planted.

Volvo made every effort to make Volvo Midsummer Celebration as sustainable as possible. All of the floral used at the Volvo Midsummer Celebration will go back into the community through ReBLOOM’s floral recycling program. The modular planting design seen at the Bowery Project Pocket Park will live at Stackt Market throughout the growing season, with harvests being donated to Alexandra Park Community Centre and local community fridges. Experience local with some of their featured organic and ethical goods from makers across the GTA.
