Starting February 27, we’ve had the honour of discovering a new way to enjoy tea at Starbucks. Seattle experts have worked 3 years to create the perfect tea latte. We are lucky, as Canadians also get exclusive insight into these new delicacies. The teas are made from meticulously grounded whole-strength tea leaves rather than tea-brewed tea bags, and the new hand-crafted Teavana teas – available in black, matcha and roobois teas – help to fully release the flavors. After being reduced to powder, the leaves are mixed with warm whole milk and enhanced with cane sugar. Reducing the powdered leaves gives a smoother, creamier taste.
In addition to the three kinds of tea, there is also a Canadian exclusivity. For a taste of spring, try out the Blossoming Rose tea, which is only available in Canada. Inspired by famous Japanese sakura teas with cherry blossom, the team made sure to get the authentic, but light, taste of the rose. A syrup reminiscent of rose water was created, embellished with rhubarb bitters and a hint of strawberry jam.
The Blossoming Rose flavor blends perfectly with the red hues of roobois tea, but can also be mixed with black and matcha teas. The tea is sprinkled with natural rose-flavored crystals and hibiscus provide a fabulous floral finish.
That’s why we approve of the new Blossoming Rose and the other beverages: the taste is so delicious! Tea fanatics will love it. The taste is equally creamy and refreshing.
