Canadian fine jewelry brand bluboho has partnered with the St. Kitts Tourism Authority to creating a collaboration that celebrates travel, protection, and the soulful beauty of exploration. The exclusive capsule collection, safe travels, wild heart, launched last week and will unfold in three storytelling chapters over the next year.
The first chapter, Welcome to St. Kitts, draws inspiration from St. Christopher, the patron saint of travel and namesake of the island. St. Kitts, often described as an offbeat Caribbean escape, is renowned for its emerald mountains, turquoise seas, and authentic cultural experiences. Designed as modern-day talismans, bluboho’s handcrafted charms capture the spirit of discovery while symbolizing both protection and adventure for the wearer.
Founder Maggie Aurocco describes the partnership as kismet: “As a child, my mother would tuck a St. Christopher charm into my hand before every journey—a tiny token of protection. When I first stepped foot on the island, St. Kitts wrapped me in her spell. This collection is a love letter to that spirit: a keepsake of guidance, beauty, and the courage to follow your heart wherever it may lead.”

The collection, crafted from recycled 14k gold and ethically sourced gemstones like larimar, features charms starting at $698 CAD, with pieces such as the St. Kitts Protection Charm in gold, emeralds, and diamonds at $1,998 CAD. Available exclusively at bluboho.com and in bluboho retail stores across Canada, select pieces will also be available in St. Kitts in the future.
I was fortunate enough to visit St. Kitts in 2022, and was enchanted by the beauty of Timothy Hill Overlook, the lilt of the locals’ voices and the azure water gently breaking up at the shoreline. It is a magical place and I wanted to learn more about how it inspired this jewelry collection. I had the chance to interview the Hon. Marsha T. Henderson, Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation and Urban Development for St. Kitts and Maggie Aurocco to learn more, starting with Aurocco’s favourite piece from the collection:

Do you have a favourite piece from this collection?
Aurocco: I love the St. Christopher Protection Charm, and I also love the St. Kitts Heart charm. We tried to incorporate the sea, the lush greenery, and the overall spirit of the island into the designs. Every detail in the collection was intentional, drawn directly from our trip and all the experiences we had in St. Kitts. The pieces reflect that lushness, that sense of discovery, and the beauty we found everywhere on the island
How did you feel when you saw the jewelry collection?
Henderson: I thought it was an excellent way to tell our story through the colours and the design of the pieces.
Tell me a little bit more about your experience on St Kitts and how it how it inspired the collection.
Aurocco: We got to experience so many different parts of St. Kitts. We did hikes in the rainforest with a medicine man who showed us the local herbs and plants, which was such a unique way to connect with nature. That tied into the context we brought around the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
What I loved is that we could follow the story of St. Christopher, which feels like the beginning of the island’s story. Since the collection is told in three chapters, it made sense to start there, with that connection to St. Christopher, and then move it forward from there.
Tell me what sustainability means on St Kitts, and what it means to bluboho:
Henderson: For us, sustainability is at the core of who we are as an island. St. Kitts is proud to be the first sustainable island state in the Western Hemisphere for tourism, and our agenda goes beyond environmental responsibility. We are committed to preserving our natural resources and preventing over-commercialization, but just as importantly, sustainability here is about social inclusion.
We want the people of St. Kitts to benefit directly from the tourism industry, so the wealth it generates is shared with local stakeholders. That’s why we’ve designed a sustainable tourism agenda that moves beyond the beaches and into our communities. We encourage visitors to immerse themselves in how we live – our food, our culture, even our accent – because that authenticity is part of what makes us sustainable.
So for us, sustainability is about both protecting our environment through clean energy and conservation, and ensuring that our people, our communities, and our way of life remain at the heart of tourism.
Aurocco: We support environmental charities and do our part from that standpoint, but it also shows up in how we make our jewelry. We use recycled metals, source local stones whenever we can, and create pieces that are designed to last; not to be disposable. That’s the number one thing for me: jewelry is something people can wear forever and even pass down.
We also offer repairs, because if something breaks, we don’t want people to just toss it out. All of our packaging is sustainable, reusable, recyclable, and eco-friendly. To us, sustainability isn’t just a concept; it’s about weaving responsibility into every step of what we do, every single day.
If you were to say what stands the most about St. Kitts, what would you say that is?
Henderson: I was just looking at a picture we have on display, and it reminded me how beautiful St. Kitts truly is. I feel so fortunate to live here. The island is untouched, almost unreal, and surrounded by the ocean. But what really sets us apart from other sun destinations is the warmth and hospitality of our people. That’s something we work hard to protect and make sure it always shines through.
Our food is another part of our identity. We grow much of what we eat, you can catch fresh fish straight from the sea, and our local street food, especially barbecue, is something every visitor should experience.
Of course, our culture is incredibly rich. St. Kitts has been shaped by both European and African heritage, and that history is woven into everything: our traditions, our cuisine, and the spirit of the island itself.
Aurocco: Every single experience we had was superb, and somehow, each one felt better than the last. Every day we’d say, ‘Oh my gosh, that was incredible,’ and then the next day would top it.
For me, the highlight was getting out on the water. We had a catamaran day where we sailed around the island, and seeing St. Kitts from the ocean was just unforgettable.
