It’s often difficult to find the perfect things to do while you’re visiting a new location, and when it comes to Muskoka – there’s plenty to fill your days with. The trick isn’t just filling up your schedule, it’s seeing as much as you can without having to miss out on anything great. It’s easier said than done, but there are some things you simply cannot miss out on.

You should also make sure your accommodations offer you the comfort and luxury you deserve. Even if you’re not planning to be spending all of your time at your chosen accommodations, they can make or break a vacation. Why not consider a Muskoka Cottage Vacation? Spending your evenings and mornings in a scenic cottage with a view can really make each day that much more special.

Visit Santa’s Village

This holiday themed park is fun and let’s you enjoy Christmas in the summer, so why not consider this as one of your destinations? It’s a great destination to visit if you’re missing the fun of Christmas, and perfect if you’re travelling with your family. There’s a variety of rides for everyone to enjoy, as well as many other activities. You can even stay on-site, at the family campsite that accompanies this attraction. It’s a unique attraction that even has Muskoka Zip Lines & Aerial Park for older kids and their adventurous parents.

Georgian Bay Islands National Park

Seeing unique attractions is the best part of travelling, and Georgian Bay Islands National Park is one of them. The park is made up of 63 small islands and features multiple hiking trails. If hiking is your thing, or you just want to immerse yourself in nature – it’s a wonderful destination that you won’t want to miss. Not only is it a great walk, but the views and the wildlife are things that you likely won’t be able to get anywhere else in the world.

Explore the small towns

If you’re coming from the city, something that’s always magical to explore is small towns. There’s a completely different feel to them, and they’re often much more beautiful than big cities. Muskoka is packed with these small, yet stunning towns, and they don’t take too much time to explore in your downtime. If you’re looking for something that’s going to make for a more relaxed day, taking your time to walk around these towns can achieve just that. It’s perfect if you want a day near the water, without having to rush around, while having access to a number of different amenity options

Stop in at the Tree Museum

If you’re a big fan of nature, and like outdoor activities, then paying a visit to the Tree Museum is an absolute must. It’s the best place to visit on a warm day, and it’s only open for a limited time each year. From June 1st to October 30th, you can spend your day there to witness all of the great art installations. Note that there’s a lot of climbing involved if you’re going to get the most out of this, so make sure you bring your practical clothing. It’s not your average museum, but it’s a unique experience and great if you love being around nature.

Group of Seven Outdoor Gallery

It’s not every day that you can experience and observe art for free. Art galleries often charge for you to visit, but when it comes to the Group of Seven Outdoor Gallery, it’s a completely free experience. Spend a few hours experiencing these unique murals throughout the gallery. The artworks are spread over a number of locations, and it could take you some time to complete the tour if you’re set on seeing all of them. Of course, it could also just make for something interesting to do while you’re exploring Huntsville.

Go kayaking

If there’s ever been a time to try out kayaking, Muskoka is a great place for it. There are countless beautiful lakes around the area, and there’s so much room for you to give kayaking a chance. It’s a relaxing, peaceful activity, that allows you to just get ou there on the water away from it all. If you want to experience nature’s beauty to the fullest while you’re visiting, this is something that you won’t want to miss out on. You won’t need to bring your own kayak, either, as there are plenty of places you can rent one.
