Ah Provence! Sunsets, rosé wine, green landscapes and the warm welcome of the South of France. It’s impossible to deny that Provence is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Europe! The tourist season has just begun and will last until September. I think this is the perfect month to visit because the weather is mild and the streets are less crowded. If you are planning a trip to Provence soon, here is a list of some of the best hotels in the region!

Le Couvent des Minimes

Luxury in the countryside?  This hotel is definitely a dream! A member of the Relais & Châteaux group, this is one of the most beautiful places in the region! A breathtaking terrace offers a view of lavender fields and allows us to take in Provence’s quiet scenery.  The beautiful swimming pool is attached to the L’Occitane Spa and gives us a serene space to enjoy the warm sunshine that the region is known for. The rooms are modern and luxurious and some even have quite a history. The property once belonged to a community of missionary Franciscans of Mary, believe it or not.  If you cannot spend the night on site, the restaurant, Le Cloître, was given a Michelin Star in 2016. It is one of the most sophisticated places to dine in Provence.

La Bastide du Plantier

If you are planning to visit Hyères- les-Palmiers, you definitely have to stop by this luxurious property. From the room decor, to the view from the terrace, and all the little details in the villa, everything here showcases Provence that we imagine it to be. A large swimming pool has recently been installed on the terrace, and several rooms are offered in the villa, making it the perfect place to host an overnight visit or to rent for a longer stay. It is also possible to arrange to have a butler, a chef or even a private chauffeur when booking the villa. As a bonus, the very welcoming owners will tell you all about their love for their region, if you have the chance to meet them in person.

Hostellerie Le Beffroi

In the heart of the medieval village Vaison La Romaine, lies an authentic castle and it is possible to stay there for the night! During my stay, I had the chance to spend the night at the top of the tower, like a princess, and I must say, I will remember this experience for the rest of my life! The property has belonged to the same family for several years, and has been beautifully maintained.

Le Domaine de Fontenille

Located in the middle of a vast vineyard, the Domaine de Fontenille is breathtaking. The place takes is refined with sumptuous gardens that you can see from the terrace. The tastefully decorated rooms are spacious and luxurious, a refined haven in the centre of Provence. A large swimming pool is also available for guests.  Just a few steps across the street, you can taste wines produced right at the estate. A simple, but delicious restaurant is located on the garden floor, and another sophisticated and Michelin starred eatery is also open on the estate. Domaine de Fontenille is also part of  Small Luxury Hotels and is certainly one of my favourite places to stay in the region.

La Bastide of Voulonne

If you want to stay at a more peaceful hotel in the Vaucluse region, stop by the Bastide de Voulonne.  You will feel right at home here.  The rooms are comfortable and it is located close to  Luberon village. In the evening, enjoy dining at the restaurant, where you will be served regional dishes and local wines. It is a charming, intimate property.

Provence Hotels: L'Hotel De Paris

L’Hôtel de Paris

How do you go to Provence and not visit the Côte d’Azur, where the sun is always shining and the ambiance, luxurious! The Hôtel de Paris, located in Saint-Tropez, is one of the most upscale establishments in the region, marrying fashion and modern decor to impeccable service. They recently participated in the inauguration of the Brigitte Bardot statue on the Place Blanqui, in front of the hotel.  This has made it become a must-see tourist attraction in the region. The Hotel de Paris also is perfectly situated in the heart of Saint-Tropez village.
