It is always hard to keep up with mascara launches and Maybelline New York is known for their mascaras. Our favourite is Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara. It lengthens. It separates. It thickens without clumping. It doesn’t flake or smudge. It acts like a tubing mascara, but it’s better. If you want an all-around great mascara, this is it.

Milani Highly Rated Anti-Gravity Tubing Mascara is a really good mascara and part of Thoughtful Choices at Shoppers Drug Mart. It is a wetter formula than the three mascaras above. It also shares the same conical wand that all of the mascaras in our 5 best list have. It is another one of the pricier mascaras, so if you like a wetter, traditional tubing mascara, this one is ideal for you. Just wait for sales.

Last, but not least is another Thoughtful Choices at Shoppers Drug Mart product. Essence Lash Without Limits Extreme Lengthening & Volume Mascara is also a good mascara and again, not just for the price. Essence has a few good mascaras, but this one is truly the best of them. Essence doesn’t get as much hype as other brands, and you have to look for it in-store, but they have some of the best products on the beauty market at the drugstore.
Buy NowRemember to throw your mascara out every three months. If you notice an odour, clumping or flaking that didn’t happen before, throw out the mascara right away. Using old mascara may lead to eye infections. Have a back up of a favourite mascara, but you don’t need to have 20 of them. You can use up a minimum of four per year, and if you like to try a variety, save it for your next “quarter”.
