A warehouse full of shoes and handbags is every DIVINISTA’s dream, but negotiating a sale with other like-minded women can be overwhelming to say the least.  There will be over 30,000 pairs of shoes sizes 5-11 available and we are giving you the scoop on how to shop the sale like a pro!  The Designer Shoe Warehouse Sale is a GTA tradition.  Here is everything you need to know:

Tip #1 – Know the Details

If you don’t know the basics, you can’t shop the sale.  You have to know the where and when.  Check online for details.

Tip #2 – Sign up to be a VIP

VIP’s get advance shopping and receive coupons. You will have a larger variety of shoes to choose from with a greater chance to have them in your size.  The VIP sale is day one, May 3; all you have to do is provide your email address and you are in.  You even get a $10 coupon to save even more!  Best of all, it’s free, and who doesn’t like to feel like a VIP?

Tip #3 – Know Your Size in a Variety of Brands

Every shoe brand has a different cut or fit.  Before you go to the sale, get your foot properly sized and try on brands that will be available at the sale such as Sam Edelman, Vince Camuto, Jessica Simpson and Cole Haan.  There are plenty of styles, brands and sizes to choose from, but if you know what your best fit is, it will save you some time so that you can hone in on what works for you.

Tip #4 – Remember, it’s Only a Deal if You Will Wear It

Everyone loves a deal, but sometimes we get so excited by prices, that we buy for the sake of buying.  Shop your closet before you go so that whatever you pick will fit with your wardrobe.  A pop of colour is great, but if you only wear neutrals, don’t buy something “just in case I’ll feel more adventurous.”  If the shoe fits, wear it, but if you are buying a half size smaller just because you love the style, you should really leave it on the shelf.  On the other hand, if you find something in a style and size that’s perfect, buy a backup pair just in case or buy the style in a different colour to give yourself comfortable, yet chic options.  Use handbags as your statement piece – they always fit.

Tip #5 – Be Patient

There are racks of shoes and handbags to go through, and it can be overwhelming, but anything worth having, is worth searching for.  You will find something, just take a deep breath and dive in.
