Last month, I had the incredible opportunity to attend a press trip with Volvo in Copenhagen, Denmark. The trip was not only an introduction to the stunning Volvo XC90 but also an immersive experience of Scandinavian luxury, nature, and innovation. From the bustling streets of Copenhagen to the serene landscapes of Malmö, Sweden, every moment was a testament to Volvo’s commitment to excellence.

Driving the Volvo XC90

Copenhagen is renowned for its design, sustainability, and charm, and all these characteristics resemble the ones of the new Volvo XC90, with its sleek design and understated luxury.

The first thing that struck me with this car is its spacious interior. Every detail—from the ergonomic seats to the panoramic sunroof seemed designed with comfort in mind. Despite its size, the XC90 felt surprisingly nimble and easy to maneuver, making it a pleasure to drive from Copenhagen to Malmö, Sweden. The drive was smooth and almost serene, thanks to Volvo’s advanced suspension system and quiet cabin. It’s not just a car; it’s an experience.

Our route took us across the iconic Øresund Bridge, connecting Denmark to Sweden. The XC90’s excellent handling made the journey a breeze, allowing us to fully enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding sea and sky. Arriving in Malmö felt like stepping into a different world, with its blend of modern architecture and natural beauty.

Our destination was VYN, a luxurious retreat nestled in nature. This beautiful location provided the perfect backdrop for reflecting on the day’s journey. The accommodations were as thoughtfully designed as the XC90 itself, with a focus on sustainability and elegance. Every detail—from the locally sourced cuisine to the minimalist decor—echoed the Scandinavian ethos of harmony with nature.

One of the highlights of the trip was a wood carving workshop held in a private space at VYN. Guided by a skilled artisan, we learned the art of transforming raw wood into simple yet beautiful creations. This activity resonated deeply with Volvo’s values of sustainability and craftsmanship, reminding us of the importance of working in harmony with nature.

To cap off the day, we were treated to a Michelin-star dinner inspired by local and seasonal ingredients at Daniel Berlin’s renowned restaurant. The dishes beautifully showcased the natural bounty of the region, echoing Volvo’s ethos of celebrating and preserving the environment. It was a culinary experience that perfectly complemented the day’s journey and reinforced the connection between luxury and nature.

The Volvo XC90 combines spaciousness, luxury, and performance in a way that feels both effortless and refined. For someone like me who values comfort and style but also wants a car that’s easy to drive, the XC90 strikes the perfect balance!
