Each country has its characteristic dishes, which are a kind of business card and are popular with tourists. We will show some examples of the most popular dishes of the world.

Of course, these are just some of the famous dishes that are the hallmarks of various countries that are popular with tourists. In each country, you can discover many new and interesting culinary traditions. If you like to eat well, then you know that after a meal you should relax. You can relax and have fun anywhere in the world and Predict with Tony.

Pizza – Italy

Italian pizza from Naples is considered the most popular dish all over the world.

Neapolitan pizza is made from simple and natural ingredients: flour, yeast, water, and salt. It is distinguished by a thin, but slightly raised dough, which forms a characteristic boundary layer – a “crust”.

The most popular types of Neapolitan pizza are Margarita (with tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and basil) and Marinara (with tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, oregano, and basil).

At the end of the 18th century, a  discovery was made, which led to the appearance of Italian pizza as we know it today. One of the most popular ingredients was tomato, which at that time was considered poisonous and no one dared to use it for food.

However, King Umberto I of Italy and his wife Margarita di Savoy visited Naples and tried a kind of pizza where tomatoes were the main ingredient. They appreciated it so much that the pizza was named after Queen Margarita – Margarita Pizza.

Since then, Italian pizza has become widely known and loved all over the world. Their recipes were passed down from generation to generation, and Naples gradually became the world capital of pizza.

Sushi and Sashimi – Japan

Japanese cuisine is famous for its fresh fish dishes such as sushi and sashimi. Sushi and sashimi are two famous Japanese dishes that are an integral part of its culture and cuisine. Both dishes have their own history and unique features.

Sushi is rice cooked with vinegar mixed with various ingredients such as raw or pickled fish, seafood, and vegetables. Traditionally, sushi is served with soy sauce, ginger, and wasabi (Japanese horseradish). Sushi can be presented in various forms: nigiri-sushi (rice with a piece of fish or seafood on top), maki-sushi (rolls rolled into sheets of seaweed), chirashi-sushi (rice with different fillings, laid out in a large bowl), sashimi (thin slices of fresh fish or seafood, served without rice).

The history of sushi dates back to the 4th-5th century BC, when fishermen and hunters used rice to keep fish in salt. Various conservation methods have emerged, such as fermentation, salting, and fermentation. In the 12th century, sushi appeared along the Japanese coast, where they were prepared with brine. The discovery of the method of preserving fish in vinegar occurred in the 16th century. This method allowed the fish to be preserved much longer.

Sashimi, unlike sushi, is thinly sliced pieces of fresh fish or seafood without rice. This allows you to feel the real taste and texture of the food. Sashimi is an older and simpler dish than sushi, and its basis is high–quality ingredients and the ability to cut them properly.

Falafel – Israel

Falafel is made of fried balls of chickpeas or other beans, which are traditionally served in a pit with vegetables and sauces.

Falafel is a popular dish of Middle Eastern cuisine (and one of the popular dishes of the world), which is often associated with Israel. However, its history is somewhat more complicated and has many cultural sources.

The history of falafel goes back to ancient times and can be traced back to the times of Egypt or India. Some believe that the original recipe included fried balls of chickpeas or other beans, seasoned with spices and herbs. Over time, falafel spread throughout the Middle East and the Mediterranean, becoming popular in Israel as well.

In Israel, this delicacy became especially popular in the middle of the 20th century, after the arrival of Jews from different countries of the Middle East and North Africa. They brought their traditional falafel recipes with them and spread them all over the country.

We hope that you enjoyed looking at some of the dishes of the world!
