2024 marks a decade of Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants. It is the comprehensive guide to Canada’s exciting food scene. Canada’s culinary scene has evolved over the last ten years. Jacob Richler, editor-in-chief of Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants shared his take on it:

“When I look back on the last decade, I’d say first that we started with a list that featured a lot more traditional fine dining and white tablecloths than what you see ranking in the upper echelons of our list today, ” says Richler, “That is simply a reflection of changing taste, everywhere. What I find more interesting and more particular to Canada is that our restaurants are increasingly difficult to classify into traditional categories.”

He continues, “Our best restaurants show off excellent contemporary techniques. But it’s the diversity of culinary influences on the plate that is more and more our signature. Chefs are showing pride in their culinary heritage wherever they’re from. And that confidence and generosity are making dining out here more interesting all the time. Our contribution to this is to highlight quality and help drive customers and business to those excellent restaurants that most deserve it.”
