The warmest jacket material is wool. However, tencel lyocell made out of eucalyptus is softer and more breathable. The fabric is 100% recyclable and biodegradable. Nevertheless, wool is still more popular and easily accessible at online and retail stores.

Wool jackets are not just warm, they are more fashionable than traditional puffer jackets. Aside from wool, there are many other materials that can keep you warm depending on the weather. Here is a list of what jacket material is the warmest:

Silk

Silk jackets can also be worn in cooler weather. Interestingly, a silk jacket will also keep you warm. However, compared to other materials, a silk jacket may not keep you as warm as you would like because it has a higher thermal conductivity. Silk material allows heat to escape from your body, unlike other materials. A silk jacket will keep you warm, but it may not be suitable in freezing conditions.

Polyester

Polyester is also an excellent material to wear and keep you warm during the winter months. A polyester jacket will store more heat compared to silk. Also, it has been proven that polyester will provide more heat than a cotton-acrylic blend. Some are water repellent and wind resistant. Polyester jackets are usually machine washable too.

Cotton

Cotton has long been one of the most popular fabrics in the world. Aside from being affordable, it is also readily available and offers warmth in the winter. In addition, cotton materials have been upgraded by blending them with synthetic fibres. For instance, cotton-polyester, cotton-acrylic, etc. These different blends help make the fabric warmer and more durable. Many women’s jackets are made of a cotton blend.

Conclusion

Any jacket made of the above-listed fabrics will keep you warm in the winter. Nevertheless, the severity of the cold will determine the jacket you should wear. You can layer more than one jacket to stay warmer in the winter. The best women’s t-shirt to wear with a jacket in the winter is cotton or wool fabric. Layering with these fabrics will keep you warmer and will still be breathable.
