The Skin Care Craze That Works for Your Hair

Micellar (pronounced my-sell-er) water is the latest craze in skincare.  It’s a gentle, natural cleanser that lets you take your makeup off without stripping your skin.  The great news is that if you are looking for that same gentle cleansing for your hair, it’s now available in Herbal Essences bio:renew’s new Micellar Water & Blue Ginger shampoo!  The Micellar and Blue Ginger collection is the latest entrant into the Herbal Essences bio:renew line-up that is made with a patented blend containing 90% naturally derived ingredients including active antioxidants, sea kelp and aloe designed to revitalize every hair type, even colored hair.

Micellar Water: Herbal Essences Shampoo

Micellar Water has long been popular as a cleanser in France.  Its tiny cleaning micelles lift dirt gently to clean your skin, leaving behind moisturizers that are kind to your skin.  Who wouldn’t want that kind of cleaning for your hair?  The shampoo can be used every day to remove buildup, dirt and oils that have accumulated in your hair, without stripping or over-cleaning your stressed tresses.

The biggest difference is that in skin care, you don’t need to rinse for the ingredients to work.  When using the shampoo, the rinse water is needed to activate the micelles that will carry away the dirt and oil from your hair.  According to Rachel Zipperian, Principal Scientist for Herbal Essences, “The micelles are essentially “bi-polar”.  One side of the micelle is attracted to oil, while the other is attracted to water.  During use, the micelle is activated so it can trap the oil and suspend it in water that is then, rinsed away.”

We loved how clean our hair felt without stripping the moisture from it.  The smell was divine! Don’t forget to follow with Refresh Blue Ginger Conditioner to seal the deal and your cuticle for soft, radiant hair!
