As we head further into December, it has us turning to the upcoming new year. While it feels like 2023 only just began a few weeks ago, the past twelve months have flown by and it’s time to ring in a new year. With the changing of the year it also brings an influx of new year’s resolutions. It’s a chance to set yourself goals and give yourself things to aim for in the months to come. A new year is essentially a clean slate, so why not make the most of it. In this article we look at some new year’s resolutions to make for 2024 that you should actually stick to.

Improving your budgeting

The first thing you need to do in 2024 to help yourself out is to get better with budgeting. It could be that you have one thing in particular you want to save for, or perhaps you’re just not very good with your finances and want to try and increase the money you have in your savings. No matter the reason, setting a goal to be better with money is one of the most sensible and achievable resolutions to make for 2024 that you can set. Look online for tips that can help you.

Get better with your health and fitness

Getting fit is one of the most popular new year’s resolutions that people set but you need to ensure it’s a realistic goal. Just saying you want to “be skinny” in 2024 isn’t enough and you can feel the pressure too. Instead, you want to set healthy goals and actionable plans such as going to the gym or for a run twice a week, eating healthily Monday to Friday (with weekends off) and booking in your medical appointments. And don’t forget your mental health too, meeting up with people and ensuring you’re not lonely. There’s been links found with social isolation and hearing loss as well as other health ailments so you want to take care of all aspects of your life.

Being more positive about yourself

If you’re negative about yourself this can cause you to become anxious and depressed. It can be hard to be positive, but you’ll find you just need to change your outlook. Instead of looking in the mirror and pointing out your flaws, find three things you like about yourself. Soon you will stop looking for negatives and find you’re much happier with what you see. This can be a real benefit to your mental health and help with your confidence in your life too.

These are just a few things you can do in 2024 when it’s time to make those new year’s resolutions. You want to ensure you set goals that are realistic and that you can actually achieve. If you don’t, it can quickly be disheartening and make you feel like a failure when actually the goals you’ve set are just not realistic. What are some resolutions you have for 2024 that you’re going to try and ensure you stick to? Let us know in the comments below, we look forward to hearing from you.
