From high-end brands with luxurious formulas and chic packaging to budget-friendly gems that don’t compromise on quality, there’s a perfect shade for every style and occasion. Drugstore lipstick has come a long way. Formulas and packaging have both greatly improved, and these brands are now releasing some of the most innovative formulas on the market. In fact, some of the best lip products can now be found in your local Shoppers Drug Mart. Here’s a money-saving tip: watch for sales! Drugstores release weekly flyers, so don’t pay full price if you don’t have to. Here are some of the best that we tested:

NYX Professional Makeup Lip IV Hydrating Gloss Stain – $18.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart

This is one of the most innovative lip products I’ve ever tried. NYX Professional Makeup Lip IV Hydrating Gloss Stain applies like a gloss, but when the gloss fades, you’re left with a beautiful, non-drying stain. If you remember lip stains from the past, they were drying. Not so with this product. It is Magnesium, Vitamin B12 and lip-quenching Coconut water and comes in 12 shades.

Maybelline New York Soft Lip Gloss, Teddy Tint – $19.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart

Teddy Tint is truly unique. It applies like a lip gloss but sets down into a soft matte that stays on for hours. It has the ideal amount of pigment to give your lips a natural look. I tested it a number of times and got around six hours of wear depending on what I was eating. It didn’t transfer when I was drinking. The product comes in ten shades and the description says that you can also use it on your cheeks.

Revlon Super Lustrous LipStick – $14.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart

If you like a traditional, bullet lipstick, Revlon Super Lustrous LipStick is a cult classic for a reason. There are a wide variety of shades that will suit any skin-tone and there are four finishes: crème, matte, pearl, and sheer. It provides a smooth, even application, the shades that you loved years ago are still available and with the creamy texture that you expect from bullet lipsticks.

L’Oréal Paris Infallible Matte Resistance Liquid Lipstick – $19.49 at Shoppers Drug Mart

There are always occasions when you still need a long wearing liquid lipstick, especially if you like wearing true reds. L’Oréal Paris Infallible Matte Resistance Liquid Lipstick has an excellent texture and is one of the few liquid lipsticks that I don’t find uncomfortable. There are 22 shades and they are easy to apply with the diamond-shaped applicator.

Laura Mercier High Vibe Lip Color – $47.00 at Shoppers Drug Mart

Laura Mercier High Vibe Lip Color features a highly pigmented, slim bullet-style lipstick. It is a true to colour lipstick meaning that the colour in the component is what it will look like on your lips. The intensity of the colour means that it works on all skin tones. It is a very creamy produc that is comfortable to wear, but still long-lasting, especially for a bullet formula.

Charlotte Tilbury Big Lip Plumpgasm Plumping Lip Gloss – $47.50 at Sephora

While lipstick will always be popular, especially for National Lipstick Day 2025, plumping lip glosses also have their place in your lippie wardrobe. Charlotte Tilbury’s Big Lip Plumpgasm Plumping Lip Gloss does exactly what it says it will do – it actually plumps your lips. No one is going to think that you just had filler, but your pout will look that much fuller. Although it only comes in three shades, that’s more than enough since there is just a hint of colour. Wear it alone, over your favourite lip pencil or over your lipstick.

Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Gloss Bomb Stix High-Shine Gloss Stick – $35.50 at Sephora

We showcased Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Gloss Bomb Stix High-Shine Gloss Stick before, and it may show up again. It is a glossy, medium pigment lipstick that smells so good and goes on so beautifully. It has enough colour to be noticed, but not so much that it looks unnatural. It is the perfect on the go, summer lip product.
