A Valentine’s Day playlist can be whatever you want. It can feature songs about true love, unrequited love, love that has stood the test of time but may have been taken for granted and of course songs about that guy whose just not that into you. We are sharing our top songs that should be on your Valentine’s Day playlist right now.

For the Person with an Emotionally Unavailable Love Interest: girl in red – “Too Much”

This song is an anthem for people in with an emotionally unavailable partner and belongs on your Valentine’s Day playlist. girl in red announced that her sophomore album, I’M DOING IT AGAIN BABY! featuring “Too Much” drops on April 12th. She spent much of 2023 opening for Taylor Swift on her Eras Tour but it is now time for her to be in the spotlight.

For the Friend Who Wants the Best for You: Zara Larsson – “You Love Who You Love”

Zara Larsson released her new studio album VENUS on February 9th. The chart topper’s latest song, “You Love Who You Love” is perfect whether you are a friend who knows that her bestie is headed for heartbreak, or if you know in your heart of hearts your relationship isn’t working. Hey – not everyone has a Valentine – right?

For Couples in the Honeymoon Stage: Aqyila – “Bloom”

With fans like international superstars Camila Cabello, Lu Kala and Jay Versace, Juno nominations and being named Spotify Canada’s RADAR Artist of the Month for February Aqyila is poised to be the next R&B queen. 

According to the artist: “It’s [“Bloom] a love song that reminds you why you love the person that you’re with. Why they’re your safe space on your hardest days,” said Aqyila of the track. “Writing this song just gave me chills, it instantly felt special. I see it as a wedding song,” she continued. 

Now isn’t that the perfect song for your Valentine’s Day playlist?

For Those Yearning for Lost Love: Marc Anthony – “Punta Cana”

Is there anything more romantic than yearning for lost love? Marc Anthony’s Punta Cana is a twist on Bachata music. The press release states: “Punta Cana delves into the realm of nostalgia and longing. It artfully portrays the complexities of a past love, evoking a profound yearning for the revival of what was once a beautiful romance.” Swoon….and even more swoony with Marc Anthony singing the song in Spanish.

For the Love that May Have Been Taken for Granted: Billy Joel – “Turn the Lights Back On”

Billy Joel is back with his first single in decades and we are here for it. “Turn the Lights Back On” is classic Billy Joel as he plaintively wonders if he waited too long to show his long-time love the appreciation that she deserves. The classic Billy Joel style tune is a must have on any Valentine’s Day playlist.
