Breast Cancer Awareness Month<\/a> first launched in October of 1985 to promote mammograms as the most effective way to fight the disease. Technology and treatments have improved in the almost 40 years since the advent of the first Breast Cancer Awareness Month<\/a>. Each year, approximately 28,600 Canadian women will be diagnosed with the disease*. Many are either impacted or know someone whose life has been impacted by breast cancer.
