The Women\u2019s Brain Health Initiative\u2019s signature\u00a0From Her Lips to Our Ears<\/em>\u00a0<\/sup>event featured award-winning journalist, editor, and author Tina Brown in conversation with CTV\u2019s Your Morning Host Anne-Marie Mediwake. The event, held at The Ritz-Carlton Toronto, was the first in-person event for the charity since 2019.<\/p>\n

Brown launched the Canadian tour for\u00a0her latest book,\u00a0The Palace Papers<\/a><\/em> as a fundraiser for the Women\u2019s Brain Health Initiative. A\u00a0strong advocate for women\u2019s health, this is the 3rd time\u00a0that Brown has chosen\u00a0Women\u2019s Brain Health Initiative\u00a0as her Canadian charity of choice, once in New York and twice now in\u00a0Toronto. A signed copy of The Palace Papers<\/em> was given to each guest, and there was a musical performance by award-winning artists Marc Jordan and Amy Sky.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s Brain Health Initiative (WBHI)\u00a0<\/a>helps protect women\u2019s brain health by focusing its resources on\u00a0research\u00a0to combat brain-aging disorders that disproportionately affect women. In addition, the WBHI creates compelling\u00a0preventative health\u00a0education programs, grounded in science, so there is a greater understanding by the public of the best ways to prolong their cognitive vitality. Many disorders associated with brain aging inexplicably affect women, and there has been a lack of research to understand why. Taking sex (biological factors) and gender (social influences) into account is necessary for equality in health and precision medicine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This is the 8th From Her Lips to Our Ears<\/em> event. They have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for\u00a0research and\u00a0education programs that better meet women\u2019s needs. Previous Lips events have featured\u00a0Marcia Gay Harden,\u00a0Joan Lunden, Kimberley Williams-Paisley, and Jann Arden among others.<\/p>\n
