The Park Hyatt Toronto<\/a> had it’s official ribbon cutting ceremony on September 15, 2021 after nearly four years of renovations.\u00a0 Rather than just report on the re-opening, which was fabulous, of course, we want to take you behind the scenes and show you what everyone is curious about with a luxury hotel – the larger suites and amenities. Many of us may not be lucky enough to stay in the luxurious Presidential Suite or the well-appointed Bi-Level suite, so we want to take you on a tour. We will also share some of the other amenities AND what we think is the highlight of the hotel.<\/p>\n

With 219 rooms, including 40 suites, a brand new restaurant and a facelift to their 17th floor bar, there is a lot to share. Now for our personal tour of the Park Hyatt Toronto.<\/p>\n

When you walk into the hotel, the first thing that you see is this beautiful, large scale tapestry – Dead Ringers by Shannon Bool. Renowned designer Alessandro Munge carefully curated an impressive collection of Canadian and indigenous art. Art is seemingly everywhere on the main level without feeling overdone.<\/p>\n

The reception area is modern, yet warm. You immediately feel at home when you walk into the small area.<\/p>\n

After a long journey<\/a>, what could be better than resting your weary head in the Presidential Suite? It is 1,825 square feet, and comes with a large living area complete with a modern fireplace, working area and dining area. There is a pantry with a mini-bar and even a Nespresso machine in case you need a caffeine fix. The suite has a half bathroom off of the living area too.<\/p>\n

As lovely as the living area is, just wait until you see the master bathroom. It is appointed with double sinks, a huge walk-in double rain shower and a soaker tub that comes with a view. It was our favourite part of the suite.<\/p>\n

The master bedroom is designed with sophisticated, modern elegance and plenty of attention to even the smallest details. These details include floor lights and closet space that made us envious.<\/p>\n

The Presidential Suite starts at $6,251 CAD per night.<\/p>\n

The 2-Bedroom Bi-Level Suite<\/h2>\n

The slightly smaller (at 1,430 square feet) Bi-Level Suite was our favourite. It just felt more homey. Maybe it was the staircase, or the more intimate living area or the beautiful pantry. Either way, we loved it. There are two bedrooms, so you can split the cost which is currently starting at $2,579 per night. The loft-style master bathroom was bright and beautiful and has two queen beds. The second bedroom had one.\u00a0 The biggest difference? The bathroom didn’t have a window – otherwise, nothing was missing from this well-appointed bathroom.<\/p>\n

Joni and the Writer’s Lounge<\/h2>\n

Guests and Torontonians can dine at Joni – Park Hyatt Hotel’s contemporary restaurant. With a menu from Executive Chef Antonio Soriano and casually elegant surroundings, you will love the ambience. The focus of the food is on local (where possible), fresh, flavourful ingredients that are in season. We’ll report back on the taste once we try it. The breakfast, lunch and dinner menus offer something for everyone including vegans and vegetarians.<\/p>\n

The highlight of the hotel, at least in our humble opinion, is the rooftop cocktail bar – Writer’s Room. The name pays homage to the many writers that called the hotel their home away from home over the years or who gathered in the former rooftop bar setting. The classic, old world feel of the former rooftop bar was kept. It is the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail after dinner or for a nightcap after a long evening out. The views of Toronto are magical.<\/p>\n
