On April 19th, for example, <span class=\"il\">Levi<\/span>&#8216;s launched a new spring campaign \u2014 \u201cBuy Better, Wear Longer\u201d \u2014 that is raising awareness and speaks to <a href=\"https:\/\/divine.ca\/en\/ganni-x-levis-spring-summer-2021-collab\/\"><span class=\"il\">Levi<\/span>&#8216;s<\/a> shared responsibility on the environmental impacts of apparel production and consumption. The label partnered with an inspiring group of changemakers including Jaden Smith, Xiye Bastida, Melati Wijsen, Xiuhtezcatl, Emma Chamberlain and Marcus Rashford.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign spotlights <a href=\"https:\/\/www.levi.com\/CA\/en_CA\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Levi\u2019s<\/a> ongoing efforts to drive sustainability through more eco-friendly production practices like investing in materials such as cottonized hemp and organic cotton, implementing Water&lt;Less manufacturing. The company is also reducing its natural resource footprint.<\/p>\n<p>Fashion lovers know how to spot a great deal and create one of a kind outfits through thrifting. Thrifting is an easy way for the average consumer to enjoy fashion in a sustainable way. Emma Chamberlain, a YouTube creator and staple with more than 10.2 million subscribers shared her own love of thrifting in Levi&#8217;s campaign:<\/p>\n<div class=\"cs-embed cs-embed-responsive embed-responsive-16by9\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Thrifting in Style with Emma Chamberlain | Levi&#039;s\u00ae\ufe0f\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hQ6MR2lgJoc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>We also love thrifting and want to do our part to promote sustainable fashion. It is a great way to create a unique look for yourself. Mix vintage pieces with classics that you may already have in your wardrobe for a high\/low look. If you are going to invest in pieces like quality denim or leather, a well made vintage piece can give you the thrill of the hunt, and&nbsp; give your new denim some added style. Here are some tips on finding that hidden treasure if you are new to thrifting:<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"dress-in-thin-layers\">Dress in Thin Layers<\/h2>\n<p>Not all thrift stores have change rooms and sizing has changed over the years. If you want to try on garments, you&nbsp; may have to do it over your clothes. Dressing in thinner layers gives you a better idea of fit.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"understand-what-creates-a-well-made-garment\">Understand What Creates a Well-Made Garment<\/h2>\n<p>A well-made garment or accessory uses <a href=\"https:\/\/www.celticandco.com\/circular-fashion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">natural fibers<\/a> like wool, cotton, cashmere or leather. Blazers, skirts and pants that are lined are also marks of well-made garments. Denim that is a brand name, like Levi&#8217;s that are in great condition, are also must buys.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"shop-all-sections\">Shop All Sections<\/h2>\n<p>You never know what you can find in the men&#8217;s section or even the kids&#8217; section. You can find great, vintage jeans in the men&#8217;s section or sometimes a one of a kind sweater. If you have small feet &#8211; that can pay off with gently used kids shoes. For example, a size 4.5 kids is equivalent to a women&#8217;s size 6; a kids&#8217; 5 is a woman&#8217;s 6.5. Sizes go up to a women&#8217;s 8.5 (kids size 7). You can find unique shoes that are at a fraction of the cost.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"check-for-sales\">Check for Sales<\/h2>\n<p>Yes, you read that correctly, thrift stores have sales. Big box thrift stores like Value Village and Goodwill have sales on a regular basis and you can also find money saving coupons online. Smaller vintage stores also have sales. Get to know the staff at your favourite stops and they just may give you the inside scoop on an upcoming sale.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"dont-just-stick-to-your-local-thrift-shop\">Don&#8217;t Just Stick to Your Local Thrift Shop<\/h2>\n<p>If you live in the downtown core of your city, travel to the suburbs &#8211; the merchandise will be different and you may find that treasure that you have been looking for.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"tailor-the-item\">Tailor the Item<\/h2>\n<p>If you find a magical piece, really make it your own by having it tailored. Do this for well-made garments only that you know will last. You can always change buttons yourself, but a tailor will really give you that custom fit that you are looking for.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"know-your-style\">Know Your Style<\/h2>\n<p>Finally, don&#8217;t just buy for the sake of buying. Really look at the piece. Is it in good condition? Can a tailor fix it? Does it fit you? Does it have a place in your wardrobe? Can it be donated or resold if you tire of it?
