Let\u2019s face it, we all need to save money right now.\u00a0 We told you before how makeup dupes<\/a> (short for duplicates) from the drugstore will help you save money.\u00a0 We tested even more products from every price range to bring you the winner between high end favourites and drugstore loves.\u00a0 Every product that we tried was good \u2013 some just had a slight edge while other were tied. Products were, once again, tested for performance, lasting power and overall quality. Remember, that with makeup, everyone has different skin types and textures which can affect how makeup performs.<\/p>\n

Concealers<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Competitors \u2013 Tarte Shape Tape 10ml $35 at tartecosmetics.com<\/a> VS. Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer 5ml $7.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart<\/a><\/h4>\n

Concealers cover everything from dark circles to broken vessels, acne and melasma.\u00a0 Some, including the two that we tried are so full coverage, that you can use them instead of wearing foundation. Tarte Shape Tape was the favoured concealer by many Influencers.\u00a0 The challenge is that it\u2019s not available in Canada.\u00a0 You either have to order it from Tarte\u2019s or Ulta\u2019s website.\u00a0 It is an excellent concealer.\u00a0 Shape Tape is crease-proof and long lasting. Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer is also long lasting.\u00a0 It is a high-quality concealer with the same benefits as Shape Tape.<\/p>\n

To do a true test, I wore both concealers on my face \u2013 one on either side.\u00a0\u00a0 By the end of the day, neither had creased and both provided beautiful coverage.\u00a0 If you have very dry skin, full coverage concealers may not be right for you, but if you are oily or combination skin, they work really well.<\/p>\n

What You Are Missing Out On By Buying The Makeup Dupe:<\/h4>\n

The biggest difference between the two, other than size and packaging, is the size of the doe-foot applicator.\u00a0 Shape Tape\u2019s is much larger than Catrice\u2019s Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer.<\/p>\n

The Winner:<\/h4>\n

Catrice\u2019s Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer.\u00a0 They both did an equally good job at covering up imperfections.\u00a0 I did like the more precise application that I was able to get with Catrice\u2019s Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer.\u00a0 It is also better for immediate gratification since you can get it easily in Canada.<\/p>\n

Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation is touted as a dupe for Fenty Beauty\u2019s Pro Filt\u2019r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation by YouTubers like Stephanie Nicole who pay attention to ingredients.\u00a0 In fact, if you compare the top ingredients for both foundations, they are identical. Unfortunately, I\u2019ve never tried Pro Filt\u2019r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation.\u00a0 While the Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Hydrating Foundation isn\u2019t the same, it is long-wearing which is similar to Catrice\u2019s foundation.<\/p>\n

What You Are Missing Out On By Buying The Makeup Dupe:\u00a0 <\/strong><\/h4>\n

Both foundations are long-lasting.\u00a0 Smashbox\u2019s is more hydrating and a thicker formula.\u00a0 It also has a pump.\u00a0 Catrice\u2019s HD Liquid Coverage Foundation is a thinner formula that comes with a dropper applicator.\u00a0 Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Hydrating Foundation is not as full coverage.\u00a0 It is more forgiving if you over apply it.\u00a0 With Catrice\u2019s foundation, less is more.\u00a0 Start out with a small amount and build it up to the finish that you want.<\/p>\n

The Winner:<\/h4>\n

It\u2019s a tie.\u00a0 It depends on your skin care needs and the type of finish that you want.\u00a0 Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Hydrating Foundation is better for dry skin and a more natural finish.\u00a0 If you have oily or combination skin, Catrice\u2019s HD Liquid Coverage Foundation is the way to go.\u00a0 I was really impressed with this product.\u00a0 If you have tried Fenty Beauty\u2019s Pro Filt\u2019r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, and want to save money, this is an excellent option.\u00a0 \u00a0It dries down to a beautiful finish and you don\u2019t even feel like you have foundation on, even though it is full coverage.<\/p>\n

Both mascaras are volumizing which means that your lashes will look thicker.\u00a0 L\u2019Or\u00e9al Paris also claims that Lash Paradise will lengthen your lashes.\u00a0 Both feature a natural bristle wand with an hourglass shape that helps lift lashes and explains the popularity of both mascaras.\u00a0 Too Faced did it first though.<\/p>\n

What You Are Missing Out On By Buying The Makeup Dupe:<\/h4>\n

Absolutely nothing.\u00a0 From the pink tube down to the hourglass wand, L\u2019Or\u00e9al Paris Mascara Voluminous Lash Paradise is identical. \u00a0Our recommendation \u2013 wait for Lash Paradise to go on sale \u2013 it is often a flyer item to save even more money.\u00a0 L\u2019Or\u00e9al Paris\u2019s formula is a little thinner but you need to be careful not to over-apply either mascara or you will have clumpy lashes.\u00a0 Two coats is usually enough with both.<\/p>\n

The Winner:<\/h4>\n

L\u2019Or\u00e9al Paris Mascara Voluminous Lash Paradise for the win.\u00a0 It\u2019s less than half of the price and the mascara is less flakey.<\/p>\n

KVD Vegan Beauty Tattoo Liner in\u00a0 is a cult favourite for a reason.\u00a0 It is a long-wearing, brush tip eyeliner.\u00a0 This eyeliner lasts all day and never flakes off.\u00a0 The brush tip makes application easier and it doesn\u2019t tug on your eyes.\u00a0 Physicians Formula Eye Booster Lash 2-in-1 Eyeliner and Serum is a great dupe.\u00a0 Buy the Ultra Black though \u2013 the black is actually more of a gray. \u00a0It actually does boost your lashes while you use it.\u00a0 It\u2019s a small change but I did notice that my lashes were longer.<\/p>\n

What You Are Missing Out On By Buying The Makeup Dupe:<\/h4>\n

KVD Vegan Beauty Tattoo Liner lasts just a little bit longer and Physicians Formula has the unique lash boosting feature.\u00a0 The application was identical with both of these products.<\/p>\n
