{"id":1597947,"date":"2020-05-09T10:01:23","date_gmt":"2020-05-09T14:01:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/divine.ca\/?p=1597947"},"modified":"2020-05-09T10:07:00","modified_gmt":"2020-05-09T14:07:00","slug":"mothers-day-dessert-ideas-baileys-affogato","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/divine.ca\/en\/mothers-day-dessert-ideas-baileys-affogato\/","title":{"rendered":"Mother&#8217;s Day Dessert Ideas: Bailey\u2019s Affogato"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"pk-dropcap pk-dropcap-borders\">Affogato is a lesson in simplicity when it comes to <a href=\"https:\/\/divine.ca\/en\/vegan-avocado-chocolate-torte-recipe\/\">dessert<\/a>.\u00a0 Traditional affogato is made with two simple ingredients \u2013 vanilla gelato and espresso.\u00a0 Fun fact \u2013 affogato literally means \u201cto drown\u201d in Italian.\u00a0 It basically means that you are drowning the cold gelato with the heat of the espresso.\u00a0 With Mother\u2019s Day coming up, we wanted to add a little more complexity to the dessert, yet still keep the heritage of the dessert intact.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"preparation\">Preparation:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Preparation 15 mins.<\/li>\n<li>Chill four hours or overnight.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"shopping-list\">Shopping List:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>5oz Baileys Original Irish Cream<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd cup of espresso<\/li>\n<li>1 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.food.com\/recipe\/sunken-chocolate-cake-45786\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sunken chocolate cake<\/a> or your favourite unfrosted cake from the grocery store<\/li>\n<li>Two scoops of vanilla ice cream<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>SERVES 2<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"directions\">Directions<\/h3>\n<p>Step 1: Put two shots of espresso into a jug and pour in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baileys.com\/en-ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Baileys<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Step 2: Firmly press a cookie cutter into the cake to lift out two rounded pieces.
