August is the perfect month to read female contemporary fiction<\/a>.\u00a0 There is no one better than beloved \u201cThe Princess Diaries\u201d author Meg Cabot at the genre.\u00a0 She is back with \u201cNo Judgments\u201d.\u00a0 The book is not your typical chick-lit.\u00a0 It is told with humour and with a soft play on the #MeToo movement.\u00a0 \u201cNo Judgments\u201d kick\u2019s off Cabot\u2019s Little Bridge Series.\u00a0 It is a great book for people who grew up reading the author or for those of us who never read her books before.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo Judgments\u201d<\/a> is set on Little Bridge Island in the Florida Keys as the quirky residents\u2019 brace for an upcoming Category 5 hurricane.\u00a0 Bree Beckham, who moved to the island three months before, isn\u2019t concerned, at first.\u00a0 She is able to hunker down in a safe location, but the animal lover starts worrying when she realizes how many pets have been left behind.\u00a0 She teams up with resident island hunk\/heartbreaker Drew Hartwell to save the day. The tension in the story is a result of her ex showing up.\u00a0 Their bad breakup is what drove Bree’s move to Little Bridge Island.<\/p>\n

You\u00a0 learn some interesting facts about what to do in case of a hurricane \u2013 each chapter starts out with tips.\u00a0 There are also some very heartwarming moments as the close community bands together to help each other out.\u00a0 There is no denying that this is a quick, easy read, and even a little predictable.\u00a0 You will enjoy the romance between Drew and Bree though.\u00a0 The supporting characters are likeable and fun.\u00a0 Some of the best moments are between Bree and her \u201cJudge Judy\u201d style mother.<\/p>\n
